Thankful

This year I am incredibly thankful for family. I know that I'm a blessed person with a wonderful immediate and extended family, but this Thanksgiving I was really struck by how special it is to be able to get parents, inlaws, grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins all together in one place. And to all be joyful together. We had a really wonderful Thanksgiving with lots of family. Jeff and I reserved a cabin at Harbor Villa, the beachside property that TRFC owns. For Thanksgiving dinner we had 13 people; me and Jeff, my mom, dad and brother, Roger and Louise, grandma and grandpa Sargent, Davey and Linda Forney, Aunt Diane, and Louise's friend Anita. The food was delicious and we had fun chatting and playing games in the evening. My family left on Friday afternoon, and then the Brownlees and John, Carrie and their boys came. It was fun to have the kids around. Always entertaining! Grandma and grandpa Minthorne and Bob and Nancy came on Saturday afternoon, meeting us all just in time to visit the Tillamook Cheese Factory and fill up on delicious icecream. We all played games back at the cabin, and tried to brave the stormy beach that afternoon, then had a great ham dinner. Everyone packed up Sunday morning and we all headed down to the beach hoping to catch a glimpse of the Twin Rocks, but alas, the fog just kept rolling in. It rained most of the weekend, but the waves were really putting on a good show on Thursday and Friday, so even though we couldn't enjoy a sunny beach, we at least got to watch God's awesome power as the waves crashed on the rocks. And the best part was that we got to watch it all from inside a warm cabin on comfy couches, with family by our sides.

Thanks to everyone who was able to make it the Thanksgiving gathering, and for those who missed it, we missed you.
