Our first winter storm hit this week. In 48 hours the north coast got 6-7 inches of rain. It was the first "real" rain we've had of the season. All the rivers went above their flood stages. A lot of roads were washed out, and one bridge.
The rain started Monday night, went all day Tues., all day Wednesday and finally quit around 8:00PM Wednesday night. It was nice and sunny Thursday morning, but not dry. There was water everywhere! We had a delayed start for school because so many roads were impassable for the busses. There was one amazing situation involving a girl at my school saving her family when their car got wiped into an overflowing creek as they were driving across the bridge. Here is a link to the story http://www.katu.com/news/local/34438424.html
It's pretty amazing. Praise the Lord for what he did in all those lives. It could have been a really tragic situation, but instead, and like all the families said, the called out to Him and he heard. Hopefully we will be able to honor the young girl at school. I think the police and fire departments want to give her an award.
