A Rainy-Day Hike

Two weekends ago Jeff and I both had Saturday off, so we decided to go for a little hike. There are a lot of great places to hike around here so we had a hard time making up our minds, but we eventually decided to go to Cape Lookout. From the tip of the cape you're supposed to be able to see all the way up to Cape Meares and all the way down to Cape Kiwanda. The day was a little bit drizzily but we decided that we are tough costal people now and that we could handle it. We were also hoping that the fog would burn off and we would have a beautiful day for hiking. Well, the fog never did go away, and it drizzled the whole 4 1/2 miles, but it was still beautiful in its own way.

By the time we got back to the car we were both soaking wet, but refreshed. It was the first hike of the season and it felt good. We both agree that we want to go back one of these days when we can actually see the ocean from the tip of the cape.
