Step one was getting the tile out of the entryway. Jeff did a great job of getting some of the tiles out in one whole piece so that we could use them to replace the two cracked tiles in the kitchen.
Step two was getting the carpet up. Yay! Jeff, his dad, and out friend Jeph worked on this part on Saturday morning.

Step three was laying down the tar paper and then the plywood.
Then they layed down our beautiful hardwood floors! Owen and I mostly just stayed out of the way. We hung out in the bedroom folding laundry, reading, and going for lots of walks. The guys were done by Monday afternoon. Jeff just finished putting the rest of the trim back on the doorways today. Here's our finished product!
Doesn't it look great! It didn't take long for Owen to dedicate the floor with it's first few scratches, but that's ok. He's learned to walk a little more lightly, so hopefully we won't have a huge problem with scratches. Jeff has enjoyed some "sock skating" and I've enjoyed the easy cleaning of a Swiffer. So now we have nice, clean floors for baby Sargent to play on!
