In short, the apartment is short and small, but it certainly has all the necessities, and of course, I shan’t forget to mention that it’s less than a 100
The camp is letting us stay here until we are able to find more permanent housing. We plan to be here for about 1 1/2 to 2 months while we look for a house. As I mentioned before, we have decided that we would like to buy a house rather than rent, so we are just beginning a search reaching from Rockaway Beach down to Bay City. Today we had the exciting experience of actually going with a realtor to see a few houses that could be our future homes. Out of the 5 we looked at, we both agree we like 3 of them. The problem is we can’t decide which we like best.
So we now present to you, our options (thus far):
Behind door #1 is a house in Rockaway, just at the south end of Lake Lytle. The house was built in 1930 and it has had some upgrading since then, but it’s definitely a fixer inside and out. It’s got a lot of charm though and we can definitely see it’s potential. It’s surrounded by properties that are zoned wetlands and therefore cannot be developed which would give us almost direct access to the lake as well as insuring that we will not be boxed in by newer towering houses. Hopefully that would help the resale value on the house too.
Behind door #2 is a house in Bay City (a little longer drive from camp, approx 10 minutes), on the west side of Highway 101. It is only a short walk to a small, beachy area on the bay. It’d be a great place to take a dog for a little run, or launch a little row boat! The house was build in the 70’s and has that type of ranch architecture. It’s in fairly good shape though we’d probably want to do some work on the outside to make it a little more appealing.
And behind door #3 is a house up the hill a little, also in Bay City. It is in great shape and is very “cute”. It’s only about 10 years old, well taken care of, and has a hot tub! It’s the smallest acreage of the three, but it has nice gardens and some big fir trees in the yard. It would require very little work, if any.
Obviously we are only in the first stage of the home-buying process, so if anybody has some tips or suggestions of good house choices, we’d love to hear them! We hope you all are well and happy! Keep in touch!

Not that you have to listen to me, but... we looked at a lot of houses this past year, and saw many that we liked, but didn't love. I was waiting for that moment of "this is it!" It happened when we walked into the door of our house! You will know when you have found the right one - it will feel like "home" when you enter. Good luck, and keep us updated. =)
Dude, as a current homeowner the only thing i can recommend is too not get something that is more than you'll use. Selling features are great but you have to pay for them, if you won't use it then don't worry about having to have it, exp. a fireplace in the hottest part of California, it looks good but i get to use it 2 times a year. Go with comfort and what fits you, and maybe an extra room for when friends visit. Love
