An afternoon at the Pumpkin Patch

We were very excited to go to our new, local pumkin patch this year. We have always gone to the Sauvie Island pumpkin patch, but it is just too far away. So last Sunday after church we decided to check out the new pumpkin patch here in Tillamook. It was just a few miles from our home.
They offered tractor-pulled hay rides, a corn maze, pumpkin patch and yummy treats. We opted not to do the corn maze this year, but the tractor ride and the pumpkin patch were big hits with the boys. Levi was yelling "tra-ter" (tractor) almost the whole time we were there. It was a bit of a muddy day, but at least the rain held off until we got in the car to go home.
The family that owns the farm still has some work to do to make it a great family destination, like designating parking spaces so that people don't just park haphazardly up and down the one-lane muddy road, and not charging quiet so much for the pumpkins ($9 for a medium sized pumpkin), but all in all, it was a fun way to spend an afternoon.

The following Tuesday evening we carved pumpkins with our friends the Troyers. We didn't get super creative with the pumpkins this year, but they still turned out pretty cute :)
