More Things Daniel Says

Daniel cracks me up most of the day...when he's not throwing a tantrum about the fact that the ice in his cup melted, or other totally rational things like that ;) Here are some things that have had us chuckling lately.

  • He says "Let's go at park" instead of "Let's go to the park".
  • He calls oatmeal noteneal.
  • When he notices that it is getting dark outside he says "It's darking".
  • The other day he noticed the picture collages hanging in our bedroom that Jeff made of each of they boys from photos of their first few days. When he saw all the pictures he said "Whoa! Lots of babies!"
  • Whenever he talks about something that has happened in the past, be it 2 hours ago or 2 weeks ago, he says it happened "last night".
  • His favorite exclamation is "Oh man!"
  • When he is selecting an item he says "How 'bout...dis one!"
  • The other night Jeff was reading an alphabet book with Daniel and he was asking what sounds the letters make. When he got to the letter B Jeff asked Daniel "What sound does B make?" to which Daniel replied, "Ummm, honey!"
  • If you ask him to say cheese and smile for a picture he will say cheese over and over again but he will rarely look at the camera.
  • If I ask him about the status of his diaper (or big boy underwear!) he will shrug his shoulders and say "Just clean" or "Just pee-pee" or occasionally "Just tooting".
  • The other evening we took a walk as family down the local park. We have two option of routes to take to the park, one with a few hills and one that is pretty much flat. As we were walking home from the park Daniel informed Jeff "Not going up hill. Mom too tired. Just going other way." He said this because often it is just me and the boys going to the park, and after chasing Daniel around at the park and pushing Levi in the stroller, I am often too worn out to go up the big hill, so we take the flat route home. I love that he had picked up on that and was being sensitive to it, even though I wasn't tired this time :).
