Jesus died for our sins and then rose from the grave and ascended into heaven and is waiting for us there! That is ALWAYS good news! Also, Daniel was very excited about his Easter basket, dyeing eggs, hunting for plastic eggs and eating jelly beans this year. It is fun to experience Easter through the eyes of kids. Levi loved the plastic eggs with jellybeans in them because they make great shakers. We were surrounded by friends all day and enjoyed delicious food. We even got to play a good game of Scrabble with our friend Mary, always a treat. :)
Here are my beautiful boys on Easter morning.
The down side of Easter came as a result of two sleep-deprived parents failing to communicate. On Easter Eve we decided that we needed to get Levi out of our bedroom and sleeping through the night, so we moved his crib into the computer room, laid him down and he promptly fell asleep. So we stayed up a while longer getting stuff ready for Easter day and finally made it to bed around 11:00 PM. Levi woke up around 11:30 crying. Jeff and I hadn't communicated about what we would do if/when he woke during the night, so after about 10 minutes of crying Jeff had had enough and went in to soothe him, but he was very grumpy about it, which didn't help in soothing Levi, so then I got up too. This happened 2 more times during the night, and by 6:30 in the morning, when needed to be up getting ready for church, both of us were exhausted and grumpy. Jeff had to leave by 7:00 AM to play worship for the sunrise service, but there was no way we were going to get all 4 of us out the door on time, so I had to get myself and the boys ready and make it to church on time for the potluck breakfast at 8:45. We ended up arriving around 9:15, just as all the tables were being cleared, the food being put away, and Jeff heading upstairs to practice for the next service. Once we all got settled in church and in the nursery, we felt like we were able to enjoy the day though. Praise the Lord!
