CCCA Super Sectional

On Monday we left Bay City at 7:30 AM to head to the Christian Camp and Conference Association Super Sectional conference(CCCA for short) in Couer d'Alene, ID. Twin Rocks sends a large part of their staff to this conference every year and most years it is hosted by one of the local camps that is part of the CCCA. But every three years the event triples in size because instead of just representing camps from OR and WA, it represents camps from OR, WA, ID, MT, AK, CO and even a few from the Dakotas. So when that many camps are present (about 200) the event is held at a resort, and this year it was held at the beautiful Coeur d'Alene Resort.

It was about a 9 hour drive for us and thankfully we didn't run into any bad weather. The 15 passenger van also made it the whole way without breaking down once, and for anyone who has ever been on a church or camp retreat and ridden in a 15 passenger van, you know that that is a miracle.

The resort was amazing. I was impressed that the CCCA would chose such a classy place! The food was amazing, the rooms were very nice and the amenitites were great. The highlights of the trip for us were hanging out with our staff, taking a boat cruise around Lake Coeur d'Alene, attending some really awesome workshops and meeting lots of really wonderful campy people.

The evening of the 13th we were treated to a wonderful Valentine's Day eve surprise by God... this sunset was absolutely breathtaking. The sun started setting just as we were getting off the boat from crusing around the lake. We dashed up to our room to get our camara and made it just in time to see the lake turn gold and the sky turn neon pink.

The only down side of the trip was that Jeff and I spent Valentine's day in a 15 passenger van with 7 other people, but in the end we had a good time. I love our staff... :) Apparently they love us too!
