Fun, fun, fun!

It has been many moons since we last posted, so I will give a brief overview of the past few weeks.

In late July we went to the wedding of Kim Bendeck and Adam Snow. It was at Timberline Lodge on Mt. Hood. The sun peaked out just long enough for their beautiful outdoor ceremony, and then there was a fabulous brunch inside.

The first weekend of August was the Tillamook County Fair. We got a free ticket for the last night and it just happened to be the night of the demolition derby. A first for both Jeff and me!We walked around the 4-H booths and saw a prize-winning cow that was over 7 feet tall! The picture doesn't do it justice, but she was huge! The fair was a fun, down-home kind of event. At the demolition derby we were definitely sitting next to a guy who had 3 teeth.
A few days after the fair I had the chance to head into Portland to see some old friends. I met up with a group of girlfriends from high school and the Portland Rose Garden. We just randomly decided to meet there since it was a beautiful day and someone had heard that the roses were in full bloom. Well, we got lucky because that evening there was a free concert in the park and it was the Portland Symphony! So we kicked off our shoes, sat in the grass with hundreds of other Portlanders and listened to some beautiful music. I love Portland!
The following weekend Jeff and I met a group of college friends in The Dalles for a camping trip. Every summer since graduation all the engineers in Jeff's cohort and their families have gotten together for a reunion. It is always tons of fun, and this year was no exception. This was the first year we went camping. There were 7 couples this year and 6 kids under the age of 4. The kids loved the camping and playing in the river. Our campsite was right on the Deschutes River, which we played in alot since it was about 100 degrees!

And then my friend Tiffany came to visit for a weekend. She brought her dog Oliver, and he and Owen became fast friends! We had a fun weekend of hiking, exploring local farmer's markets, and playing in the Wilson River.

In between all this fun stuff we've mostly been working and hanging out with Owen. School starts a week from today for me, and Family Camp is next weekend, which will be a crazy time on camp! Hopefully we'll do better at keeping you all updated as things settle into somewhat of a routine. :)
